Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of rescue dogs? Join our Site team as a Driving volunteer and help us transport dogs, supplies, and equipment safely and efficiently! Our volunteer Drivers play a crucial part in supporting our fundraising and operational needs by transporting donations and allowing us to maximise the resources for the dogs in our care, as well as ensuring that our animals receive essential veterinary care.

What this involves:

  • Transporting dogs, goods and/or equipment as requested by centre staff
  • Handling animals and items being transported in line within our guidelines, health and safety regulations and to undertake appropriate training as required
  • Reporting any faulty or damaged equipment to the centre staff

About You:

  • You have a full, clean driving license
  • You are confident around dogs of various sizes and breeds
  • You have a positive and proactive attitude
  • You are reliable
  • You are able to work on your own initiative
  • You are conscientious and a team player
  • You are able to volunteer unsupervised and at off-site locations
  • You are able to move dogs, good and/or equipment of various sizes and weights into and out of a vehicle safely

We recommend visiting our website to get an idea of the types of dogs we have in our care before applying for this role. Most of our dogs come to us as strays and their history is unknown, so many of them are still learning basic commands and manners.
